Ann L. Mingaila

Ed was a quiet man who worked lots of extra hours to give his children what he thought they needed. His manners were impeccable: always opened doors for ladies, carried packages for strangers and could never stand to see another struggle. He was hesitant to throw anything away: he was pretty sure that one day he’d need it. After retiring from Jack Frost Sugar he and his late wife, Eleanor, spent summers relaxing on the beach in Avalon and the pool at Ocean View Campground. It was the height of life’s enjoyment and a little treat after years of work and raising children.rnHe enlisted in the Marines at age 18 and served in the Pacific Theatre and during the occupation of Japan. rnHe and the late, Eleanor met in Sunday School. Their 61 year union was blessed by three children who they raised in Lindenwold: Edward, Jr. and his wife Christine, Brian and his wife, Denise all of South Harrison Twp. and the late Eleanor Dougherty; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was pre deceased by a granddaughter, Amanda.rnCome celebrate 91 gentlemanly years Wednesday from 9:30 am at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro where the service will be at 10:30 am .
