Arlene Lyons Gaynor

Arlene Lyons Gaynor of Burlington Township NJ went to be with Jesus on June 8th., 2021 at her home, surrounded by love. Arlene lived a beautiful, fulfilling life for 85 years. She was the widow of Joseph T. Gaynor, with whom she shared 52 yrs. of marriage at his passing in 2008. She leaves behind her best friend, confidant & dance partner, Roy Currie, who’s love she embraced. She was a loving mother and friend to her children, Joseph T. Gaynor Jr. and his wife Diane of Robbinsville, NJ, Abby Gaynor of Burlington, NJ and Marcy Gaynor Fenza and her husband Rob of Pocopson, PA. She was the ultimate MomMom to Dylan Salmons and his wife Dominique, Jacob Salmons, Eryn Gaynor, Lauren Gaynor and Joseph Gaynor. She was proud “GiGi” to Siena Dylan Salmons, her first great grandchild, who’s birth one year ago bought her great joy. Her wonderful legacy is extensive and she will continue to impact the world thru her loving family. Arlene was a loyal addition to the MJ Doyle Company for 20 years and proudly worked for Hill International for 35 years. She was always the “go to” for advice and a listening ear. She loved the people she worked with, many of whom become dear friends that she shared life with outside of work and into her retirement in 2016 at the age of 80 yrs. young! Our family would like to sincerely thank those wonderful people that truly loved her and enhanced her life. Arlene loved her family the most. She was everyone’s best friend and we all thought we were her favorite. She was also everyone’s favorite. She loved to dance and did so with Roy up until just recently with a whole new group of “best” friends. She was a people person. With Arlene, you were always heard and loved. That was her super power. She was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was a proud graduate of Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls. Like many, she and Joe moved to the NJ suburbs to raise a family and she remained in Burlington County for 60 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Schaum and Henry Lyons and her sister’s Shirley Fray & Dee Baranoski. She will be missed by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. We will celebrate Arlene’s wonderful life Monday June 14th. at Corpus Christi Church, 11 S Sunset Rd, Willingboro, NJ. Visitation begins at 10:00am, Mass will commence at noon. There will be a celebration of her life held after services, so bring your fondest memories to share. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.

MomMom was not my grandmother, but when I would go over Eryn’s house to hang out (almost every day of my childhood and teen years) she would embrace me as if I was also her granddaughter. My grandmothers passed away when I was young, so having MomMom to ask me what new boy I was dating, come to my sporting events, and give me the biggest warmest hug meant the world to me. I am extremely thankful to not only have known MomMom but to have loved and been loved by MomMom. She will be so deeply missed ❤️
