Catherine Baker

As a young girl Catherine played field hockey and basketball which set her up for life to be physically active pushing as she aged to walk, still enjoying the outdoors. Before going to Friends Village Catherine lived in Swedesboro for 94 years. Her family name was Passwater and she had 7 siblings. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church serving on the Board of Trustees. At Church and the Swedesboro Municipal Office she could always be counted on to pick up any job and help out. Friends drove her wherever she needed to go and went grocery shopping for her, maybe cause her thank you was always lit up with big smiles. Nurses and aides at Friends Village were taken with her wit and one liners. In her younger days she was employed by Anchor Glass Co. in Salem as a control operator.
