Catherine Mary Burk

Fighting courageously until the end, Catherine Mary Burk, of Delran, age 70, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on March 24, 2023.

Catherine was born in Cape May NJ on April 3, 1952 to Donald and Alice Campbell. She was raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, graduating from Little Flower Catholic High School in 1969. She was employed as a sales representative for the George S. Coyne Chemical Company for forty years. She was a true pioneer in this industry being one of the first female sales representatives in the Philadelphia area. She excelled at her job, becoming the first ever female president of the Chemical Club of Philadelphia in 1989. She also achieved the Coyne Chemical Industrial Chemical Salesperson of the Year in 1999.

Aside from her work, Catherine’s true passion was spending time with her family. Catherine was most happy being at home with her loved ones. She especially enjoyed the holidays spent together, vacations, and sporting events. No matter how busy, she was always able to be there and provide lifelong cherished memories to her family.

Catherine is survived by her husband Jack Burk and her children: Jonathan, Rob and Casey Lyn (Mark McHugh); her grandchildren Logan, Jonathan Jr. and Collin; and siblings Allan and Carolyn.

    I worked with Cathy for many years at Coyne Chemical and the Philadelphia Chem Club.

    Cathy was fun and was a force at sales meetings.
