With her easygoing ways, Fay was meant to be a mom. She never once got mad at her kids. And she found her real calling late in life: the greatest grandmother. Rarely were they out of her arms. Thanksgiving was her holiday, joyfully cooking behind her stove with her family gathered back in her home. She loved crafting, especially fabric sewing; Fay would later turn it into a career as part owner of a sewing consignment shop with her daughter. She especially enjoyed the simple quiet things in life: leisurely car rides to check out lighthouses, light lunches and pondering the world sitting beneath the apple tree in her backyard with her husband. Her Ipad to keep her mind sharp with card games and puzzles and if her T.V was on she’d be checking out some Mid Summer Murder Mysteries.
Age 16 found her working at Gregory’s Sports Wear in Burlington. It’s there she’d meet a handsome 18 year old named Jim. Their 70 year marriage was blessed by their children: Jim Jr (Donna), Kathleen (Dave) McDonald, Winnie (Robert) Behrens; and later by grandchildren: Colleen McDonald (Ryan Brennan), Laura McDonald (‘Chandler Scales), Elizabeth (Anthony) Scaccia, and Andrew Brehrens; great-grandchildren: AJ and Katie Scaccia.
