Mark Shinn

Mark Shinn

Mark was gentle soul who was kind to everyone he met. He loved his family and Jesus and attended church regularly.

His mother and sister Rita were his best friends, and he lived with them throughout his life. Mark was great at just listening quietly, while he could be passionate about certain subjects, being angry was an emotion he displayed on rare occasions.

Mark attended Burlington County Institute of Technology for Stationary Engineering and graduated with the class of 1978.

Mark then spent many years with Safelite Auto Glass, before moving on to work with his mother at United Hospital/Fenco, and spent the last 11 years as custodian for the City of Burlington School District.

Though he never had children of his own, he influenced his nieces and nephew and was always a part of their lives. He spent time with them frequently offering books and advice.

Mark was predeceased by his father, Robert A Shinn Jr., and sister, Rita Shinn. He was survived by his mother: Julia Shinn; his siblings: Carl (Debbie) Shinn, Kenneth (Marion) Shinn, and Roberta Young (the late Samuel Jr.); nieces, Casey, Michelle, Lisa, Brianna; and his nephew, Kenneth Jr.

Memorial services will be held Friday, family visiting hours will be from 11am – 12pm; funeral service will begin promptly at 12pm. Sweeney Funeral Home, 478 Cooper Street, Beverly, NJ 08010.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org
