Dominic Messina

Friends and family knew he was only ever a phone call away. Dominic would be there lickety split with his tool box: he could fix just about anything. Ironic for an electrician, but his fuse may have been a little short; Dominic was known to let Comcast, PSE&G and Loews have a piece of his mind. Earlier years found him working for Local 98 Electricians Union in Philadelphia. His boy would follow in his footsteps; they worked together for many years. In his retirement his interest in cooking developed: nothing like a little home-made gravy. If his T.V was on he’d either be checking out some old MASH episodes, solving crimes with Columbo or yelling at the bums (Eagles).
A young Dominic was lucky enough to get into a bad car accident. Turned out his x-ray technician was a pretty girl named, Beverly Straehle. She warned him that she had seven brothers, but Dominic could spot a lie and was undeterred. Their 47-year marriage was blessed with a son, Phillip and grandchildren, Olivia and Dylan.
Come celebrate 75 great years, Saturday 8-10 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a 10 a.m. service. Interment Harleigh Cemetery, Camden. Donations in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Assoc. (donatenow.heart.org) will be appreciated.
