Donald Dahlman

Donald Dahlman

Don, a resident of Edgewater Park, NJ, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday April 29, 2023. Don worked his whole life through. He’d spend about 15 years at any position and then be on his way: his teenage years working on a farm, then went to Macmillan, Inductotherm, Philadelphia Navy Yard, worked as a handyman, and then lastly Pathmark as a manager. Of course, he was most at home out in nature, hunting, fishing or a casual round of golf. He kept his mind sharp watching lots of National geographic, reading Stephen King and devouring crossword puzzles. He was a proud member of the Elks and serving two years as Exalted Ruler: he loved what they stood for especially supporting our veterans. Don and Kathy would have shared a 50 year marriage in June.

Don is survived by his wife Kathy; daughter, Colleen (Rob); grandson, Riley; sisters, Dolly and Donna; brother in law, John (Mary); many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters from the Elks Lodge. He is predeceased by his parents: Albert and Veronica Dahlman and siblings: Barbara, Janet, and Harry.

Come celebrate 75 great years Thursday May 11, 7-9 p.m., where there will be an Elks service and Friday 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be an 11:30 a.m. service. Interment St. Peters Cemetery, Riverside. A repast will follow at the Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers donations may be to: ENF, Edgewater Park 2550, Attn: Roberta Freck, 315 Green Street, Edgewater Park NJ 08010.

Spent many times on the phone talking to Don as we were both evening store managers at both of the Pathmark stores In Edgewater Park and Camden. He had a great sense of humor and was very observant. His cynical comments on a variety of topics made me laugh and cheer with respect. He was an avid hunter with many talents. We will all miss him! Rest in peace my friend!
