Obituary for Edna M. Thompson

Edna passed away peacefully on June 24,2014. She was a lifelong Mickleton resident where her home served as the local Post Office for 40 years. Edna displayed dedication and work ethic in serving as Postmaster during these years. She also took great pride in taking care of her home on Kings Highway. She meticulously decorated her front porch and yard with beautiful flowers and bows, changing them to coordinate with each season. Edna was an exceptional cook, often hosting family holiday dinners at her home. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to locations with beautiful beaches. In addition, Edna gave many hours working on the Little Red School House Committee.

She is a survived by her daughter, Carol Gahrs and granddaughter, Cheryl Pine. She is also survived by several grandchildren , great grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Edna was pre-deceased by her daughter, Sandra Richardson, grandson, Robert Richardson, and brother, Dr. Walter Held.

A private graveside service was held at Eglington Cemetery.
