Edward “Huck” Fields

Edward “Huck” Fields

Uncle Huck was the “go to” uncle for all of his nieces and nephews. Whether it was trips to the zoo or Phillies games or a myriad of other events, Uncle Huck was always there. He delighted in telling stories of bygone years. “How bout that coffee and ice cream?” he’d always ask, wanting his nieces to serve it. He was one of 13 children. All eight of his brothers served during war time and all returned home. Due to his small size it took Huck several tries to get into the army, but he persevered until he was allowed to enlist. rnLater years found him being the life of the party at the Moorestown Lutheran Home entertaining with stories and calling bingo. He loved the history channel and college football and cheered for Penn State and Notre Dame. rnHe is survived by his brothers, Walt and Harry, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.rnCome celebrate 85 great years Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Visitation B.V.M.
