Florence H Benson

Florence H Benson

She was civic minded and loved to encourage her favorite presidents. Truman, JFK, and Carter even wrote her back. She and her husband worked the polls in Warrington, Pa and for years she worked to raise funds for Deborah Hospital. From her early 20’s she had a pen pal, Mildred, from Great Brittan. After more than 50 years of correspondence they wound up with biographies of each other. In her 50’s she taught herself to paint and made a gallery out of her home with her many still life and landscape paintings. rnFlorence went out on a blind date 64 years ago. It worked out better than most. She and her husband, Norman, spent their best years together. She even camped in a tent all across the United States with him, including in the Everglades. She was a patient mother to Deborah Clarke and Michael, but they eventually learned that they could outrun her but not a tossed shoe. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Georgann Watt, two great-grandchildren and her brother, Al Polin.rnCome celebrate 86 great years Tuesday 9-10 am at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro will there will be a 10:00 am service.
