Florence Mori

Florence Mori

Her life was far from the easiest, but when the going got tough she got going. If she couldn’t find the saying or word to get everyone through the moment she’d make one up. Her loving and quiet nature could immediately console a crying baby. “Grandma Buns” loved to gather her flock for Sunday morning breakfast, always featuring sticky buns from the L & M Bakery. She’d devour any book she could get her hands on especially Danielle Steel novels and collected elephants by the hundreds. She liked her dogs big (most recently huskies) and quietly rooted for her beloved Phils.rnShe was a lifelong Riverside resident and retired after 25 years at Macmillan publishing. She was a member of the American Legion Lady’s Auxiliary and the Lady’s Auxiliary Jersey Joes Drum and Bugle Corps. rnShe is survived by her daughters, Betty Jewell and Gina Mori-Meli; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Mario and daughter, Barbara Mori.rnCome celebrate 84 loving years tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.
