Franklin Delano Roosevelt Taylor

Frank had an impeccable work ethic. He’d work a full day and return home to gather up his family to head out cleaning businesses at night. In his later years he flipped houses with his son. He did it to provide stability to his family; a stability that he didn’t have in his youth. But it wasn’t just for his immediate family. Frank’s door was always open to anyone in need. Of course, he found his real calling late in life; that of a grandfather and great-grandfather. He’d tease them from time to time, intentionally getting their names wrong. But after a few Crown Royals he’d spend hours sharing a lifetime of great advice.  Frank was also active in his community: he served on the Delanco Planning Board, the Shade Tree Commission, and the County Juvenile Panel. He was also a member of the Delanco United Methodist Church and the Delanco Senior Citizens Group. And he really shined on the dance floor; he and his wife were regulars at the Knights of Columbus dances. No one enjoyed a vacation like Frank; he’d bring his whole family for the adventure. And he loved heading out to the casinos to battle the slots. If his T.V was on he’d be either checking out the news (on every single channel) or watching American Pickers. Frank worked at Acme markets for 20 years and for Perry Videx for 21.A young Frank was working at the Columbus Market when he met a pretty girl named Vera. They’d share a 61-year marriage blessed by two children, Florence Aldrich and Franklin Delano Roosevelt Taylor (Gina); 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Carol Allen (Ed), Reese (Joanne) and Kenneth. He was predeceased by his parents Howard & Elizabeth Taylor, his grandson Stephen, son in law Edward Aldrich & 5 siblings.Come celebrate 82 great years Friday 9-noon at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a noon service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Beverly United Methodist Church or Samaritan Hospice.
