Gariech “Cherie” Bernd

She turned heads when she came through the door: Cherie was a lady, dressed to the nines, full of glitz and glamour. She owned enough jewelry that she could match the color to her mood. But her mood was almost always up; Cherie was the life of the party. As decked out as she was, so was her home. Especially around the holidays every square inch shouted Christmas. She was never one for cooking, but always the social butterfly she loved to get out to eat. If her grandkids were into an activity you can be certain that Cherie was all in also. She was there for every event and dutifully helped out with fundraising. The good folks at Home Shopping Network will surely miss her; some thought Cherie’s T.V. was stuck on the channel.
At a dance at the age of 18 she’d meet a handsome Marine. It was half his looks and half the fact that Raymond drove the nicest black car, but it was love at first sight. They were blessed with 3 children, Robert, Raymond “Pete” (Diane), and Tracey (Dean) DeJoseph and grandchildren, Peter, Nicole (Corey) Truax, Katelyn and Taylor DeJoseph; and a great-grandson, Carter Truax. She is survived by her sister, Dee Demarco and brother, Ronald Keller.
