James J. Jones, Sr.

James J. Jones, Sr.

For Jim, the secret to happiness was simple; don’t go on a tireless pursuit of the unnecessary, rather, be content with what you have. He had everything he ever wanted within his home in Delanco. It’s there he could be found watching the birds from his kitchen table, suffering through an Eagles game or just catching a nap. But it’s also where he could find that what was most important to him, his family. There was never a time he did anything less than support them fully. rn Jimmy always had an eye for the ladies, and loved to flirt. But his greatest moment came when, as a young man, he spotted a young woman named Jennie (nee Gangone) in a local bar. Despite the fact that she was engaged he was determined to win her over. Armed only with his wonderful singing voice and his sense of bravado, his success was seen in their 58 year marriage. Before her passing earlier this year, they were blessed by their children: James, Jr. (Alice) of Mt. Laurel, Jeffrey (Maryann) of Riverside, Nancy Kerrigan (Bill) of Delanco and Kathleen Stephenson (Ken) of Delanco, and again by their 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.rn Come celebrate Jim’s 81 wonderful years (Oct. 8, 1930-Dec. 4, 2011) Wednesday from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 AM at Resurrection Parish (St. Casimir Site), Riverside. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery.
