James Smith

James Smith

From a young age he’d push a brick around in the sand pretending it was a truck. As an adult he was just as thrilled driving his real truck for Concord Beverage. He loved the open road, gabbing on his CB and the camaraderie of his brother truckers. They knew him as Southern Comfort. Listening in his house he could tell you the make and model of any truck rolling down Rt. 130. After he retired he only drove when he wanted, and never on a rainy day. As a father he always tried his hardest and instilled in his children that they ought be even better than he was.rnHe was father of James Jr., Melvin, Michael, Curtis, Pamela, Reginald, Jema, and Darryl. Proudest grandfather ever of 11 and 6 great grandchildren. Also survived by 11 siblings.rnCome celebrate 72 great years Saturday 2 p.m. at Daley Life Celebration Studio where there will be a service at 3.rn –
