Joseph Hofbauer

Joe’s early years were interrupted by a letter from the President. He was summoned to serve during WWII. He flew in a B17 as a Bombardier until the end of the War. Not only did he help liberate Europe, but he also met his late wife, Shirley. When their tour of duty was completed they returned to New Jersey, settling in Mantua. Joe was employed by Mobil Oil in Paulsboro where he kept their supplies in order.rnA fishing license was all Joe needed to enjoy retirement. Alongside his companions, Fritz the Doberman and Duke the German Sheppard, he went in pursuit of stripers and bass. From family dinners to fish chowder to freezing for the future, nothing ever went to waste.rnHe is survived by a daughter, Linda and her husband, Dion Snyder and a granddaughter, Amy Snyder. He was pre deceased by a son, Joseph Paul Hofbauer. Cremation was private.rnrn rn –
