Kathleen Ann Sackedis

Kathleen Ann Sackedis

It was easy to tell if she loved you: Kathy would give you the unvarnished truth, like it or not. She was a grand mom on the go; Yaya would haul the grandkids down to LBI and out on the boat fishing. But, of course, she’d head just about anywhere for vacation as long as there was a beach. She was true to her Greek roots, cooking and enjoying just about every dish. Kathy shopped-till-she-dropped; always seeking hidden treasures to gift to family and friends. She worked for many years as a dispatcher for P&P Transportation, but many argued she should have gone to Law School: she was a huge fan of Judge Judy and enjoyed a good argument with the best of them. Though she was always self-sufficient, there was one time when she was a damsel in distress. She had fallen off her bike and the dashing Martin Cramer was there to save the day. Their first date was the next day to a Halloween party; they would spend the next 30 years together! Kathy is survived by her daughter, Halley Beam (Roger II) and Steele the rescued dog (If Kathy had not taken him, no one would have) and was the loving daughter of Mimi and Jim. She was a devoted grandmother of Rylee, Bently, Derby and Cory and a special sister to Lucy (Sackedis) Bobrofsky and Evangeline (Sackedis) Matthews.
Come celebrate 57 great years Saturday 10-12 at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a noon service. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hearts United Against Cancer (PO Box 443, Sewell NJ 08080) will be appreciated.
