Louise Marter

(January 1, 1925 - May 14, 2013)

Dogs were not Louise’s whole life, but they made her life whole. From her earliest days growing up on her family’s farm in Edgewater Park she always loved animals. Although she’d go off to graduate from Wilbur Watts High School, Trenton State College and eventually go on to work for US Pipe in Burlington, her affinity for her four legged friends never changed. Although she bred, hunted and exhibited Beagles for many years, the Welsh and Irish Terriers held a special place in her heart.
Likewise she enjoyed horses, especially on the track and for hunt. From Jersey to Virginia she attended many events and was familiar with the thoroughbreds in many of the major races.
Louise is survived by her good friends Rose Marie Saporito, Becky Dreher-Fegley and Joyce Palm.
Come celebrate Louise’s 88 wonderful years (Jan. 1, 1925-May 14, 2013) Tuesday from 10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home 478 Cooper St., Beverly, where the service will be at 11. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the Riverfront Historical Society PO Box 172 Beverly, NJ 08010. –
