A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. Jean’s unconditional love coupled with her home cooking, especially chicken and dumplings, made her a mom for the ages. rnShe was great with crafts and always came through in a pinch. She made all of her family’s costumes and cakes for all occasions. Her skills came in handy on her son’s wedding day. She baked the cake, made the wedding dress and did all the flower arranging. In her spare time she rolled a few strikes at Holiday Lanes, stayed glued to the Food Network, and cheered for the Phils. Earlier years found her working as a clerk for the Burlington County Welfare Office.rnShe was singing country music in a bar when she was approached by a young man named Jim. She fell for him, literally. Their 52 year union was blessed by two sons, Brad and the late James Jr., and 3 grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Kathryn Cartier.rnCome celebrate 77 family centered years Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a service at 11:00. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park. rn –
