Neal Harris

Neal Harris

Nearly a month after his 52nd birthday, he passed away unexpectedly during the early morning hours of June 23. He was a current resident of Riverside NJ, formerly of Mount Holly NJ and Tucson AZ, and a long time resident of Willingboro NJ. He was the son of the late Watson and Ethel Harris and brother of the late Helen Martin. Neal struggled most recently with diabetes late in life. rnWhile growing up in Mount Holly, Neal joined the Boy Scouts and obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Holy Cross High School in the mid 70’s where he was a nationally recognized athlete obtaining a football scholarship to the University of Arizona and also an honor student, being named to the National Honor Society. Neal was a mountain of a man in spirit and in size, to his friends, family and life-long teammates. Playing all four years at Left Offensive Tackle at Arizona he protected the “Blind-Side” of the Quarterback on the field and always had your back in life for those lucky enough to be called his friends. Neal obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Arizona in 1983, and also his Master’s of Education from the same university. He loved working with young people in sports and education teaching and or coaching for much of his adult life before becoming handicapped with diabetes. rn A Memorial Service and Luncheon will be held in his honor for those wanting to help celebrate his life and memory on July 17th from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Samuel Lambert VFW Post 3020, 1125 Fairview Street, Delran NJ 08075 (856) 461-9785. rn
