Sharon Avery

Sharon Avery

Sharon was the glue that held her family together, putting everyone’s needs before her own.  Her house looked like her own personal Longwood Gardens: she was known as the Jungle Lady for all her flowers and bushes.  But she was really meant to be a grandmother; off in every direction with the grands to the beach, camping, crabbing and all their sporting events.  If she heard there was some kind of special in Atlantic City, Parx or Sugarhouse she’d be off in a flash.  And if her T.V. was on she’d be checking out a little HGTV, Ellen or yelling at the Flyers, Eagles and Phillies. Blessed were the people who got to try some of her Jewish Apple Cake or Pumpkin Pie.  Sharon was most at ease in her beloved LBI where she had a camper for 30 years.

Of course her LBI history was more than just fun in the sun; it’s there she’d meet a guy named Michael.  He was a junior, she was a sophomore.  Their 46 year marriage was blessed by children: Dawn (Bill) Agey Jr., Michael, and Patrick; and grandchildren: Jordan, Joshua, Gavin, and Summer.  She is survived by her siblings: Donna (Mike) Costello, Teddy North, Phillip North, Jim (Linda) Waters, and Tim (Donna) Waters and will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Sharon was predeceased by her parents: Jim and Ruth Waters and her brother, Wayne North.

Come celebrate 65 great years, on Wednesday from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, St Casimir site.  Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to American Cancer Society (Cancer.org).
