Thomas Halliwell

Thomas (Tom) Halliwellrn rnIt has been said that a good teacher’s sole responsibility is to make themselves progressively less necessary. Tom taught others life changing techniques at various high schools and Camden County College over the last 30 years. In this pursuit Tom always gave those around him the tools and knowledge to make themselves better people. Using the art of hypnosis, he showed people how to overcome their weaknesses, and as a Reiki Master, he showed how the spirit could heal the body. But it was simply in his nature to help others. He’d think nothing of canceling his own appointments to drive his friends and family to theirs, and if a friend ever needed a sounding board his ears were always open. In his 20s, he was asked to take some photos at a wedding. Knowing nothing about photography, he could not foresee that this would become one of his passions. Nearly 50 years later he still ran his photography business in Willingboro.rnIn the early 1980s a woman named Jackie Kirk humored a friend and attended a class on hypnosis being taught by Tom. In a mere moment an immediate bond was developed between the two. They would enjoy the next 27 years together in Willingboro, along with their neighbor, Tom’s sister Mary Ellen Costello (Pete), his niece Mary Beth Myers (Harry), nephew Timothy Costello, his 4 great nieces and nephews, as well as Jackie’s daughters: Darlene Corigliano (Drew), Dawn Kirk, Danielle Kirk , Sue Bintliff (Ray) and 7 incredible grandchildren.rnrnCome celebrate 71 inspired years (4/2/1938 – 3/16/2010) Monday from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at 8 PM.
