William Henry Dunn III

William Henry Dunn III

Life is best lived 130 miles per hour, a quarter mile at a time. If you saw Bill’s car on the trailer, you knew he’d be heading out racing. He built his own cars and was everyone’s mechanic: he could turn a wrench with the best of them. Any make was fine, as long as it was a Chevy. if he wasn’t personally racing, he’d be watching it on T.V.; he was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. And if not Nascar, he’d be cheering on the Eagles and the Sixers. As a dad, he wasn’t the strictest; he understood his children and found his real calling as a grandfather. Proud to be a pop-pop, Bill was his grandkids’ biggest fan. He gave much of his time to his son Billy, helping him compete in the Special Olympics. He had an open-door policy at his home; be it a couple of weeks or a couple of months, friends and family knew they would have a roof over their heads regardless of life’s obstacles. He knew all the staff at his favorite restaurants, especially the route 130 Diner.

Introduced by JoAnne’s cousin, Janice, Bill won her over after their first date. They became best of friends throughout their 45-years together, blessing them with children: Jennifer, Heather, William IV “Billy”, and special niece and nephew Sherry (Kevin) and Irvin (Michelle) : and grandchildren: Nicolette (John), Brad, Liam, and Ava. He is survived by his sisters; Suzanne (Bernie), Pam, and Louise. Bill is also survived by sisters-in-law Sharon (Late Jody), Gerry, Dottie, and brother-in-law Jackie (Denise), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his longtime buddies Ozzy, Phil, Benny, and the late Jody Clauss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and William Dunn II

I will always remember Bill’s smile. In fact, Bill, JoAnne, and Billy…always smiling!
Billy is joy personified. His dad and mom are responsible for his positivity and great attitude. Every time I see Billy dance or hear him sing from now on, I’ll think of his dad…I’m sure all of the Possibility Players feel the same way.
    Rest easy Bill💙
