Stanley Devlin

Stanley Devlin

Stanley always had a deeper appreciation for the important things in life. He knew that music is what feelings sound like. Perhaps that’s why that even at a young age he loved operas and classical music. A talented painter, what for most was a blank canvas, for him was a moment in nature simply not captured yet. Always a soft spot for animals, his home was never complete without a cat or dog, and any stray that crossed his path soon found a meal. Always concerned for others, he was always the first to serve as your bridge over troubled water. Only fitting then that he worked for many years at the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. rnAfter proudly serving the Navy during Korea, during a trip to Québec he met a young woman named Marie. It would not be long until they would start their life together in Delanco. Before her passing in 2006, their lives were blessed by their sons John and Mike, both of Delanco. He is also survived by his brother, Joseph (Nora) of VA, nieces; Laura and Julia, and nephew Mark. Stanley is predeceased by his parents Joseph A. and Sophie R. Devlin. rnCome celebrate Stanley’s 80 years (Feb. 9, 1930-Sept. 23, 2010) Monday 6-8 PM and Tuesday 9:30-10:30 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside.
