Arthur H. VanNess Jr. died peacefully on March 27, 2024 in his home in Edgewater Park, after a long battle with cancer. He was 80 years old. Born January 14, 1944 in Riverside NJ. Son of Reta and Arthur VanNess. Lived in Riverside most of his, he loved his boost and smoking his pipe.

Artie worked at Hoeganaes for 30 years until the plant was shut down. He loved hotrod cars, Elvis, and most of all he loved working on cars. Artie wanted his friends mentioned Bill Mortland, Phill Jenkins, Lee Jones, Larry Wesolowski, and Dave Ruff.

Artie was survived by his daughter, Nicole VanNess, April and Tony Ferguson, Kelly and Bob Beattie, Johnnie Horn, his sister Diane VanNess, brother Dean and Mary Kay VanNess, sister in law Michelle and Scott Atkinson, Charlotte and Carl Sarlo, his nephew John and Betsy D’Allesandro; grandchildren: John Jeffrey and Karli Horn, Keri and Jeremy Enriquez, Robert and Melinda Beattie, Amanda and Joe Cranmer, Jadine Horn, Thomas and Jen Dent, Michael Dent, and Kaiden VanNess, great-grandkids; Jon Michael, Justin, Karleigh, Jordan, Dylan, Jaxon, Liliana, Emitt, Codie Horn, Robert, Ryan, Ashley, and one on the way with Robert and Melinda.

Please join us in celebration of Artie’s life on April 4th 2024 from 7pm-9pm and April 5th 2024 from 9am-10am at Sweeney Funeral Home 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside NJ 08075, where there will be a 10am service. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinna NJ.
