Leon was nothing if not forthright. He never mixed words, and you always knew where you stood with him. He had the gift of being the Archie Bunker of Delran, but without malice. When he was breaking someone’s chops, it was just his way of showing affection. As a father he was always stern, funny then that as “Dzydzya” he let the grandkids get away with anything. Leon worked for Wall Industries in Beverly, was a gas attendant with his wife Diane at Texaco and also later at Sam’s Club in Cinnaminson. But, for many years when he was the bartender at the PACC in Delran. The regulars there knew when he was cooking crabs as soon as they opened the door. If the smell didn’t entice you to stay he was always happy to pack up an order to go. And while he had caught many of the bushels of crabs that were served, his real passion was fishing. Although constant sea sickness and not knowing how to swim left him with a fear of the water, his love of casting a line saw him overcome it. But it was never about the fish he brought home, rather it was always about a relaxing day with family and friends.rn As a young man Leon was introduced to a woman named Diane (nee Lisiewski). For Leon it was love at first site, she, however took more convincing. After a few dates that she had chaperoned by her friends she was sure of his honorable intentions. Before her passing in July, 2012, their 48 year marriage was blessed by their children: Marie Iezzi (Joe) of Delran, Leon, Jr. of Delran and Ronald (Jennifer) of Voorhees, and again by their grandchildren: Erin, Amanda (Dan), Joseph, Ryan and Luke and great-grandchildren: Michael and Ian. He is also survived by his sister, Nancy DeWitt of Roebling, brothers-in-law: Ronald Lisiewsk of Cherry Hill, Joseph Lisiewsk of Mt. Laurel and Jack Lisiewsk of Arizona, as well as by many nieces and nephews.rn Come celebrate Leon’s 70 wonderful years (Apr. 25, 1942-Dec. 22, 2012) Saturday from Noon to 3PM at Throwback’s Bar & Grill 2929 Rt. 130 South, Delran, NJ 08075.
