The family is the cornerstone of civilization. If every family was cared for the way Betty did hers, the world would be a perfect place. Although her facade seemed stern, her heart was always soft. She sign notes as “Big Bad Betty”, but she was really Big Soft Betty. And while there was no doubt that her word was the law, her law was always loving and with purpose. Her time as an RN at Salem County Nursing Home gave her yet another outlet to share her caring ways. Never one to sit around the house, her adventurous spirit always kept her on the go. When the children were young she and her late husband Paul would take them camping along the eastern seaboard and up into Canada. She kept on the go until November 2006 when she broke her hip in Ireland. And although she made it home for Christmas, her kids made her promise to keep her adventures states side. rnBetty is the wife of the late Paul, Sr., mother of Luann (George) Sammons of Buena, Paul, Jr. (Susan) of Quinton, Rick (Laurel) of Gibbstown, Carol Seehousz of Salem, sister of William (Ruth) McGuire of Alden, PA and Nan to grandchildren Heather and Ricky, Jr.rnCome celebrate 74 caring years Thursday 5-7 PM and from 8:30 AM Friday at Daley Life Celebration Studio, Swedesboro.
