Helen Sacalis was one of the most selfless people on this planet. She would help anyone any way she could. She loved to read and she loved the shore, especially Wildwood. She peacefully passed away in her home surrounded by family members. Helen loved music and sang in the choir at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Philadelphia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles. She is survived by her sons, Alex and Peter and her grandson, Tyler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen helped her husband in his and his brother, Nick’s restaurants, the Keystone in Riverside and Chasnick’s in Pennsauken. She later worked at Macmillan Publishing Company in Delran. She was also a member of her church group, the American Hellenic Society. She will be sadly missed.
Come celebrate 87 great years Wednesday 9-11 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Funeral service 12 noon at St Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, Cherry Hill. Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Hospital (stjude.org) will be appreciated.
