Former Riverside ResidentrnrnGlen knew that the best things in life are free. Enjoying time down the shore, or having a beer with some friends was time well spent. Time with the grandkids was even better. Never one to sit and stare at the walls, he could usually be found gardening, at the Beer Factory, Moose Lodge or the Beverly AC Club. And although he was a diehard Redskins fan, people liked him anyway. Although he worked at US Pipe in Burlington, and Castle Harbor in Riverside, many will remember him from his 18 years as a crossing guard in Delran. A true patriot, Glen served in the Navy during WWII, and was aboard the Navajo II when it was sunk in the Pacific. rnOriginally from Ohio, Glen was fortunate enough to move to Riverside in the late 60s, and soon met his wife Eileen (nee Duffy). They’d be inseparable until her death in 2001. He is also survived by his step-children Raymond Leslie (Charleen) of Forked River, Edward Leslie (Patricia) of Egg Harbor, Patrick Leslie and his girlfriend Marie of Clementon and Eileen Mason of Palmyra, his sister Margaret Hamilton of OH, the 7 grandchildren he loved to spoil as well as 3 great-grandchildren.rnCome celebrate 87 wonderful years Monday 6-9 PM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Interment will be private.
