Joseph (Bosh) Bascio

Joe’s philosophy in life was to show kindness to everyone. One of his famous sayings was “It’s nice to be important but it’s more important to be nice.” He would introduce himself as “Joe “the Nice Guy”.

As a young man, he was approached by a pretty young girl who needed change for a dollar for the jukebox at Holiday Lakes in 1953. He gave Ruth Parker four quarters, his heart and 64 years of marriage. Their union was blessed by two daughters, Ruthann (Kevin) Wolverton and Joann (Jim) Mullarkey; grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren) Wolverton, Kelly (Jared) Hess, Nicholas (Emily) Mullarkey and Tyler Mullarkey; and three great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Payton Hess and Jackson Wolverton. He is survived by his sister, Mary Morgante and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a patriot and served his country in Korea. His life calling was in real estate. As a self- employed broker, he owned and operated Colonial Realty in Westmont, NJ for over 26 years as well as using his knowledge as an instructor at M.W. Funk Real Estate School. As a Dad he was firm but fair in raising his two daughters. He would tell anyone who would listen that he had the two best daughters in “21 counties”. He was as the “acting” Mayor of Haddon Avenue in Westmont and later as the Mayor of the Rt. 130 Diner.
