Arthur H. Hatcher

The secret to living to 97 is staying active.  From the moment he woke up until he went to bed Artur stayed in motion.  Perhaps his only two breaks all day were to eat and check out Jeopardy at 7.  If you want something done right you have to do it yourself.  Even into his nineties you’d find him cutting his grass on his riding mower with his weed wacker in hand.  Or crawling around to remove any pesky weeds he may have missed.  Any additional strength he’d use to maintain his HO train collection: he hand built the layouts.  And he was inspired by Bob Ross painting many a landscape.  It was a carry over from his drawing abilities from his youth.  Earlier years found him working at Ayres Pontiac as a mechanic and he served our nation during WWII.  Arthur guarded the Enola Gay on Tinian Island.

He is survived by his sons, Lonnie and Wayne; grandchildren, Denise and Lonnie, and great-grandchildren, Lily, Lyla, and Angelique. Arthur was pre-deceased by his wife, Sarah.
