Rosemary Powers Sileo

Rosemary Powers Sileo

She worked hard so she could play hard. Rosemary was the foundation for her family; no matter the circumstances she could bring everyone together. She raised her two kids and wasn’t intimidated by any “man’s” job, stepping up to make sure her kids were always taken care of. She ventured into everything from camping to tubing to Key West trips. Quieter times found her relaxing in her backyard sanctuary and gathering her family back together on Sundays. And they always came back, if for no other reason than to get her legendary meatballs. As a grandmother she spoiled to no end: bike rides, Grammy sleepovers, ice cream for breakfast, made pizza, tents in the living room, and splashes in the mudpuddles. Basically, let them break every rule. But she certainly ingrained a moral code: “You are who you hang out with.” Diana Ross was her favorite, but she listened to everything from Grace Potter to Motown, to country. And she loved no event more than the Philadelphia Folk festival; thrilled that it grew larger every year.

She is survived by her children: Rocco (Alexandra) and Mandy, grandchildren: Karleigh Rose, Rhian Rose, and Grant Rocco; siblings: Virginia Hepner, Neil (Linda) Powers, Eileen (Bob) Maher, Madelyn (Carl) Brozis, and Theresa Powers. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Madelyn Powers and brother-in-law, James Hepner. She will be missed by many niece and nephews.

Come celebrate 66 years Saturday 4 p.m.-6 p.m., at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a 6 pm service. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the “Maryville at Post House” 610 Pemberton Browns Mills Rd., Pemberton, NJ 08068. Family and Friends are invited back to the Knights of Columbus to continue the celebration of Rosemary’s life
