Joseph Tedesco

“I have no particular talent, I am merely inquisitive” – Einstein. For Joe, his inquisitive nature always led him to seek the truth in all things. Never content to glance at the banner headlines he never missed a day’s newspaper, loved talk radio and was seldom found without a book. If having a chat with Joe, be ready to talk politics, but leave gossip at home. He loved to drive and was always ready for a road trip. With an atlas in hand, he could find the back roads to any destinations. The trip may be a bit longer, but it was more pleasant without stop lights and traffic. rnBorn and raised in Philadelphia, it would take the charm of a young woman named Carmela (nee Iannuzzi) to lure him to Riverside. Shortly after they were married Joe spent nearly four years proudly serving the US Army in WWII, but he returned safely to spend the next 69 years with her. Joseph is predeceased by his parents Vincenzo and Maria (nee Marino), his sister Catherine Tedesco, his nephews Domenic and James Tedesco and niece Lorraine Wahl. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his many nieces and nephews. rnCome celebrate Joe’s 98 great years (8/7/1912-8/18/2010) Monday from 10 AM at the Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside, where the service will be at Noon.
