Felisberta De Conçeicão Soares

Felisberta De Conçeicão Soares was born on January 30th, 1924 in Formiga, Vale de Cambra, Portugal to her late father, António Jose Soares, and her late mother, Joaquina De Açençaõ Soares. She passed peacefully in Riverside, NJ on December 8th, 2022, at the age of 98.

Felisberta was predeceased by her husband, António Ferreirra De Aguiar; her father, António Jose Soares; her mother, Joaquina De Açençaõ Soares; her siblings, Manuel Soares, Maria Soares, Silvina Soares, Alfredo Soares, Alberto Soares, António Soares, Emilia Soares; and her son Fernando Ferreirra De Aguiar.

Felisberta leaves behind her sisters, Madalena Soares and Susana Soares; her children, Albertina Soares De Aguiar, António Soares De Aguiar, Aldina Soares De Aguiar, Maria Soares De Aguiar, Abel Augusto Soares De Aguiar, Liçinio Soares De Aguiar, Maria Helena Soares De Aguiar; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Felisberta was born and raised in Formiga, Vale de Cambra, Portugal. From an early age she worked on the family farm with her parents and at a cheese factory in Vale de Cambra. She married Antonio Ferreirra De Aguiar in the Church of St. Peter’s in Castelões on January 26th, 1943. After marriage she moved to Cavião, Portugal, where she raised her children. In Cavião she continued to tend to her farm and raise their livestock. She moved to the United States in 1994 and lived in Riverside NJ until her passing.

Felisberta was a devout Catholic. In her spare time she could be found praying, reading scripture, praying the rosary, gardening, going to church, and spending time with her family and pets.

Services for Felisberta will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, 2022. A public viewing will be held at Sweeny’s Funeral Home in Riverside, NJ from 9:00-10:30 am followed by a mass at St. Casimir church. The funeral will take place directly after at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Riverside, NJ. After all services there will be a luncheon at Riverton Country Club in Cinnaminson, NJ from 1:00-4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
