Julia Shinn

Julia (Guadalupe) Shinn was called home Tuesday November 21 st at the age of 93. Born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, Julia was one of 14 siblings. Julia is the widow of Robert A. Shinn Jr., a World War II Veteran. Formerly of Beverly NJ, then resident in Willingboro NJ. Julia was also predeceased by Mark Shinn, son, and Rita A. Shinn, daughter.

Julia is survived by Roberta K. Young (widowed) of Willingboro, Kenneth B. Shinn (Marion) of Bristol PA, Carl R. Shinn (Debbie) of Jensen Beach, FL. Grandchildren include Casey L. Shinn of Willingboro, Michelle J. Bates (Christopher) of Marlton NJ, Lisa M. Hendy of Merchantville NJ, Kenneth Shinn Jr. of Deptford NJ, Kristin Mann and Brianna Shinn of Bristol PA. Great-grandchildren, Michayla Kite of Philadelphia PA, Jason R. Hendy of Cherry Hill NJ, Christopher H. Bates of Marlton NJ, Julia Lococo and William Lococo of Philadelphia PA.

Julia was a remarkable woman who had a lifelong love of learning and taught herself English, math and other skills both before and after she relocated to Beverly NJ. A believer in Jesus Christ, she dedicated many years serving the church and introducing the Gospel to those she encountered.

Julia was formerly employed by United Hospital/Fenco Lab Designs fabricating products in sheet metal. Julia was the first woman to work in the fabrication department at that location.

It is the express wish of Julia that no formal receiving be conducted. A private memorial to include family and persons closest to Julia be held at William C. Doyle Cemetery in New Egypt, NJ, where internment with beloved husband and daughter will be held.
