Dolores Headman

Dolores was a beacon of warmth, love, and generosity, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. She had a smile that was contagious; her pleasant demeanor brightened the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path. Her loving and caring nature, coupled with a generosity that knew no bounds, endeared her to all who knew her. Dolores had an unwavering willingness to do anything for anyone, a testament to her compassionate soul.

Dolores had an impeccable sense of style and was always dressed to the nines. She had a passion for shopping, especially indulging in the delights of the QVC network. She delighted in presenting thoughtful gifts to her loved ones, sometimes being described as overly generous. A woman of diverse tastes, Dolores enjoyed a variety of television shows, ranging from heartwarming Hallmark movies to thrilling SyFy adventures and the drama of soap operas. She had a love for dancing that brought joy to her heart, and her lively spirit was contagious on the dance floor.

In the kitchen, Dolores showcased her culinary talents, creating mouthwatering dishes that became family favorites. Her pasta and meatballs were legendary, and her macaroni and cheese was a comfort food cherished by all. She had a sweet tooth, indulging in cookies and cakes that she often shared with those around her. A devoted Eagles fan and an unwavering supporter of all things Philadelphia, her passion for her teams was infectious. An active member of the senior citizens in Palmyra, Dolores cherished the camaraderie of her fellow members. She also thoroughly enjoyed bus trips to see shows and musicals. She was a true social butterfly, forming lasting connections with many.

Her greatest joy in life was her family—her daughters, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter held a special place in her heart. Dolores was a nurturing presence, ensuring that her daughters never went without. The love she showered upon her family was immeasurable, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to them.

Dolores Headman will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she so dearly touched, especially her dear friend George. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know and love her. The neighbors who cared for and loved her will forever hold her in their thoughts, remembering the gracious woman who brightened their lives.

Dolores is survived by her daughters: Dawn (Richie Renshaw) Mader and Tina (Brian) Ragusa; grandchildren: Dayna (Joey) Santino, Nicholas (Justine) Mader, Jessica Phillips, and Juliana Philips; and a great granddaughter Gianella Santino; siblings: Linda Demarco and Jimmy Costa. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her loving husband John, mother Mary LaFreda, her father James Costa, her other dadTom “Tamber” LaFreda, and her brother Carmen Costa.

Come celebrate 82 years on Friday, January 5, 2023 from 9am-11am at Sweeney Funeral Home, where there will be an 11am service. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park.
