Arlene J. Eberman

Arlene was known for her outgoing nature, social grace, and striking beauty. She had a warmth to her that touched the lives of all who knew her. With her magnetic personality, Arlene effortlessly connected with everyone she encountered. As a young girl Arlene’s father was in the military where she grew up in England, then eventually moved to Virginia, and ended up in New Jersey where she started her life. She started her career as a Realtor.

Arlene’s caring nature knew no bounds as she consistently went above and beyond for others. Renowned for her culinary skills, she delighted friends and family alike with her mouth watering lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and earning the title of “superhero chicken” from her grandchildren for her chicken cutlets.

An enthusiast of gardening, live music, and beach outings, Arlene found joy in the tranquil shores of Long Beach Island, her love for the island evident in every moment spent there. She cherished intimate dinners at Barones in Mt Laurel and La Campagnola with her beloved husband Michael, whom she met at a young age and shared a remarkable 50-year journey of love and companionship.

As the ultimate mom, Arlene shared an unbreakable bond with her son Eric, who considered her not only his mother but also his best friend. Together, they shared a love for gardening, a passion Arlene passed down to Eric, nurturing vibrant flowers and impeccable ferns that adorned their home.

Her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “Mom-mom,” and they held a special place in her heart. She spared no effort in creating cherished memories with them, from beach adventures to roller skating excursions and visits to the Cape May Zoo.

Arlene’s devotion to family and her unwavering love for husband Michael, son Eric, and daughter-in-law Tina were the cornerstones of her life. Alongside her she leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by her cherished grandchildren Owen, Nora, and Jaden, her brother Mike and sister-in-law Akani, and her brothers-in-law William and Richard. She is preceded in death by her sister Susan.

Come celebrate 73 great years on Monday May 6, 2024 from 9am – 10am at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside NJ, where there will be a 10am service. Interment Brigadier William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association
