Judy Carey

Judy Carey

Her earlier years found her working for a superior court judge, but she found her real calling at a young age: Judy was a mom and later a grandmom for the ages. She lovingly spoiled her children and was even worse with the grands. Judy also loved the Lord: active in St. Peter’s Church for many years and a Eucharistic Minister who gave the sacrament at nursing homes. She also had a great love for animals with cats, dogs and birds being a constant fixture in her home. In her spare time, she could be found at Majoda Stables volunteering with their therapeutic riding program. She worked at her family’s flower company in her youth and never lost her love of horticulture, her happiest times found with her hands in the soil of her garden. Christmas was definitely her holiday, gathering her family together with traditions that started off with Midnight Mass. If her T.V was on she’d be checking out Fox News and she loved the sounds of Perry Como and Andy Williams.
She’d meet a handsome guy, the late Vincent, at a friend’s party. The two would get a chance to make some drinks; Vince and the beautiful Judy Kenney locked eyes and it was over. Their 53-year marriage was blessed by 7 children: the late Karen (Eric) Youngberg, Mark (Santa), Scott (Jennifer), Brian (Chrissy), baby Andrew (predeceased), Shawn (Alicia) and Patrick (Tara) and 18 grandchildren.
Come celebrate 81 great years Friday, November 22, 9-10:15 a.m. at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Joseph Church, Beverly. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery, Riverside.
