Leona Geraldine Swann Antuzzi

Leona Geraldine Swann Antuzzi

Gerri was “mom” for just about everybody in her Riverside/Delran neighborhoods: adored by her sons and all their friends equally. In her earlier years she pursued a career in education, earning a degree in Language Arts and substitute teaching for several years, but eventually segued into assisting with her husband’s Moorestown Real Estate business (Remax). Of course she found her real calling late in life; Gerri was a grandmother for the ages, known for her babysitting and spoiling. She was the complete package when it came to cooking: she was originally from Rock Hill SC, so she had the ability to whip up any southern dish and her marriage to an Italian gentleman led her to being able to cook generational Italian recipes. She loved Christmas; always over the top, she made it the top event for the year, she was so tired by the end that she rarely had the strength to attend Christmas Eve dinner. She loved the music from the 50’s, danced a great Jitterbug and southern Shag and she always tuned her T.V. to Fox News.

She’d meet a handsome guy at a wedding that she was attending with her sister; the two southern girls would both marry Italian gentlemen and move to New Jersey. Geraldine and the late Alfred Sr. would share a marriage blessed by three sons, Al Jr. (Lissa), Andrew (Kris), and Allen (Barbara); 7 grandchildren Al III (Brooke), Austin, Drew, Courtney (Mark), Adam, Allie and Olivia; and 4 great grandchildren Chase, Skylar, Mina, and Yumi. She is survived by her brother-in-law Matthew Antuzzi and her very very special cousin, Debbie Batson Daniels. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Come celebrate 85 great years Saturday January 18, 2025, 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Sweeney Funeral Home, 478 Cooper St, Beverly, where there will be a 10:30 AM service.

Interment Lakeview Cemetery, Cinnaminson.
