CURRENT CELEBRATIONS

Carol J. Potts nee Lindley
Carol passed away peacefully from this life on January 29, 2025 at the age of 81, after fighting a long, hard battle with dementia. Beloved wife of the late Harry T. “Tom” “Pottsy” Potts, Jr., mother, and grandmother of three. Carol was born on December 21, 1943 in Riverside and raised in Delanco by her late parents, Jesse and Virginia Lindley.
Carol’s house was filled with the delicious smells of her famous Italian cooking and the sound of her chattering away on the phone with her girlfriends. Holidays were Carol’s speciality, not only because of her cooking, but because of her unconditional love of her family and friends. Her door was open to anyone and there was rarely a problem she couldn’t solve. When Carol walked into a room, the whole place would light up. Her laugh and smile were contagious. If music was playing Carol would be the first to get up and dance, eventually bringing everyone to the floor with her. In her younger years, she worked as a legal secretary for a law firm until her retirement. Family vacations to Long Beach Island were always a highlight of her year.
Carol’s family was her pride and joy, especially the family dog, Marley, who she adored. She found her real calling a little later in life as a Grandmother. Her three granddaughters meant the world to her, nothing made her happier than spoiling them with love. She always wanted the very best for her children, Krista and Tommy.
Carol was in the right place at the right time when she was introduced to a guy named Tom Potts at the Riverside Fire Company Dance in the 1960s. It wasn’t long before they were wed in October of 1965. Together, their lives were blessed by their children Krista Potts Wallace of Moorestown, and Tom (Sharon) of Delran, and by her granddaughters Julia, Gianna, and Olivia. She is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret “Peggy” Hansen (the late Harry). She is predeceased by her sister-in-law Barbara Errickson (the late Jack), and brother-in-law Gregory Potts. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Come celebrate Carol’s 81 wonderful years on Thursday, February 6th from 6-8pm and Friday, February 7th from 9-11am where there will be an 11am service at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro St, Riverside. Interment immediately to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
