Florence “Flossie” Todd
“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter”-E.E. Cummings. Flossie never wasted a day in her life. It never mattered what was happening, with her everything became funny. And if you entered her home in Willingboro, be prepared for a good time. She loved to entertain, and usually had it filled with people. Never overly formal, just a few friends, a few drinks and many laughs. When the weather was warm, everyone knew they were welcome in her pool. Although she enjoyed swimming, she had it installed more to amuse her guests. But when out and about, she was always dressed to the nines. She never had a problem turning heads, and during her younger days was even occasionally mistaken for a celebrity. rn Although she was always a law-abiding citizen, a police officer once approached her and demanded her information. Turns out, it was a clever way for this young man to get her telephone number. Fortunately, the ploy worked, and it would not be long until she and the officer, John Todd, Jr., were married. The two remained inseparable until his passing in 1997. Together they were blessed by their children: John, III of Willingboro, Kelly Chiak of Westmont and Leslie Calderwood of California as well we their grandchildren James and Griffin. She is also survived by dear friend Mary Rock.rn Come celebrate Flossie’s 72 laughter filled years (Dec. 10, 1938-Mar. 31, 2011) Tuesday from 6 PM at the Sweeney Funeral Home Riverside, Where the service will follow at 8 PM.
