Those who knew Dan knew a man who was incredibly giving, someone who would share his time, his knowledge, and his energy without hesitation. Music was his language, his passion, and his lifelong devotion. He didn’t just work in music, he lived it, breathed it, and dedicated his entire life to it. A gifted sound engineer, Dan spent his life behind the scenes making music come alive. He worked as a soundman for renowned artists such as Grover Washington Jr. and Walter Trout, and many of the greatest jazz musicians of our time during his decades of serving artists. He was also a cofounder and sound engineer for the band Easy Street and a founder of the Willingboro Jazz Festival that brought music to thousands of local residents. His work extended to esteemed venues including the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts and the Painted Bride Art Center, where he expertly mixed sound and contributed to countless performances.
Dan is predeceased by his grandmother Angelina D’Angelo and his mother Josephine Barbieri. He is survived by his sister Eve (Albert) Carp and his very close friend Bob Adamski, along with many friends, coworkers, and musicians worldwide.
