CURRENT CELEBRATIONS

Thomas Binnig

Thomas Binnig

His life was defined by a protective provenance and a relentless work ethic. Thomas passed away at Inspira Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of service and grit.

A graduate of Riverside High School, Tom joined the U.S. Navy to chart his own course, serving a term in the Philippine Islands. This military service was a foundational vector for his later career; he dedicated twenty years to Goodyear, but his true labor was his family. Tom orchestrated a life of hard work, taking on odd jobs and working stadium events to ensure his family was provided for.

He is remembered as a guardian—whether escorting a young newspaper boy on his rounds or tending to his meticulous garden of tomatoes and pumpkins. An ardent fan of the Phillies and Eagles, he understood the delta between a tough season and the joy of a win. Above all, Tom was a man of faith who focused on the “important stuff”: family, labor, and his beliefs.

He is survived by his children, Joey (Maria) Binnig and Becca Binnig; his sister, Carol Binnig; his brothers, Edward (Sharon) Binnig, John (Cindy) Binnig and Bill (Jane) Binnig; and many nieces and nephews.

Come celebrate 72 great years Sunday September 13, 6 to 7 pm at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside where there will be a 7 pm service. Interment Monday September 14, 1:00 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery, Wrightstown NJ.
