Catherine “Kay” Dych, 87, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2022, surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Riverside, NJ, and lived in Delran and Surf City. She is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James A. Dych, and her parents Charles M. and Veronica Stellwag. She is survived by her three children, Jim (Lucy), Bill and Tricia Dych, as well as her grandchildren, Katerina (Sam) Brough, Adam Dych, Kelly (Joel) Brown and Sharyn (Eric) Minner, her great-grandchildren Thomas, Ellie and McKenna Brough, Ashlyn Dwyer, Emma Farney, Jackson and Jillian Brown, Delaney and Presley Minner, as well as her great-great-grandchildren Penelope and Phoebe Dwyer, and her brother Charles (late Diane) Stellwag.
An avid quilter, Kay was the past president of the Moorestown Area Quilters and was a member of the Love Apples and Peaceful Shores quilt groups. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and served as a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Prayer Shawl Group and the Bereavement Committee. She also loved to play mahjong which she did several times a week. She is a retiree of Verizon Communications.
Come celebrate Kay’s life on Saturday, December 17, 8:30 am-10:30 am at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Resurrection Parish (St. Casimir site). Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Samaritan Hospice, P.O.
