Benedict Jordan 73 of Hainesport, passed away on August 18, 2022. Ben leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Geraldine (nee O’Connor). sons Dennis (& his wife Gretchen), Kevin (&his wife Alise) and grandchildren Dylan, Matthew, Max, Devyn, Hope, Tess and Jack. He is predeceased by father John Jordan, mother Anna Jordan and brother Richard Jordan.

Ben attended Holy Cross High School where he was a 3-sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball. It was at Holy Cross where he met his wife, Gerri. He was a graduate of Temple University where he played baseball while earning a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education.

After graduation, Ben started his teaching career at Memorial Junior High where he taught for 34 years. He would go on to coach football, basketball and baseball throughout south Jersey, but most enjoyed coaching his sons at Delran High School.

Ben was an avid golfer, winning club championships at Golden Pheasant golf course as well as putting championships at LuLu country club. In his down time, he enjoyed fishing in LBI, walking the beach with his dogs and watching his grandchildren participate in activities. He enjoyed working with children from Adaptive Education helping them to overcome challenges to enjoy sports. Ben and his wife enjoyed going to dinner with their wonderful, supportive friends and loving family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am at Church of the Sacred Heart, Riverton NJ 08077 on Friday, August 26, 2022. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Serenity Hospice of New Jersey.
