Bernice V. States

Bernice V. States  (nee Coyle) went home to the Lord on her 95th  Birthday on November 18, 2023. She was born and raised in Riverside and graduated in 1947. Bernice met her husband Harry in Riverside and they married March 31, 1951, where they also raised their 3 children.

Bernice and Harry retired and moved to Orange City, FL where they owned and operated Harry’s Rod Shop for many years, making many new friends. In 1990 they sold their business and moved to Orange Tree Village where Bernice became very involved with the community. Bernice enjoyed many hobbies such as Bingo, joining a Senior dance group, shuffleboard, traveling and reading. She especially loved that 4 of her siblings lived in her community and they participated in events together. She will be remembered as friendly and always smiling with a great laugh.

Bernice loved spending time with family and each visit would end with a pocket full of Hershey kisses to share and a long walk. Everyone knew the way to her heart was chocolate.
