Betty Pearl Russek age 90, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023.

Betty was born on January 11, 1933, to Thomas and Pearl Darmo in Moorestown, NJ and graduated from Moorestown High School in 1952.

After graduation, Betty worked as a bookkeeper for Campbell Soup Company, kicking off a 20+ year career. Betty was socially active at Campbell Soup and was known for singing in company shows.

In approximately 1953 Betty met Edmund Russek at a dance at Maguire AFB. They wed on February 11, 1956 and went on to have 2 sons, Mark and Martin Russek.

Throughout her childhood and adult life Betty loved working on her family’s agricultural farm in Moorestown. She worked in the fields picking vegetables and was well known by many in the area for operating the family road stand on Creek Road. Betty also greatly enjoyed attending and helping at Trinity Episcopal Church rummage sales. However, Betty most enjoyed spending time with her family. Her family remained the most important element in her life.

Throughout her long life, everyone who met Betty would comment on her extremely pleasant and kind nature. She was very well liked by all.

Betty was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Pearl Darmo, her husband Edmund Russek, and her brother Thomas Darmo Jr. Betty is survived by her brother Ralph (Susan) Darmo, children Mark (Karen) and Martin (Katalin) Russek, and grandchildren Nikole, Sean, and Brandi Russek.

Come celebrate 90 years on Saturday March 18, 2023, from 2pm-4pm, at Sweeney Funeral Home, 337 Bridgeboro Street, Riverside NJ 08075, where there will be a 4pm service. Interment private.
