Carol Battaglia

Carol Battaglia (Gatti) of Moorestown NJ passed away on February 26, 2026.  She was 71 years old.  Carol was born on December 16, 1954 in Riverside NJ, where she attended Riverside High School.  She was a proud graduate of the Class of 1972.  She earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Finance at Glassboro State College in 1993. Later, she received a Medical Coding Certificate at Burlington County College.

Carol worked at Western Union and Union Carbide both in Moorestown NJ, devoted time in caring and raising her only daughter, and later ended her career path as a medical coder for Virtua Hospital in Mount Holly before retiring.  She was an avid sewist who made many beautiful quilts often gifting them to those she loved and admired.  Carol had interest in bowling, photography, knitting, crocheting, and enjoyed nature especially at their home in the Poconos.  She knitted Christmas stockings for the newly born children in the family.  Her tulip garden was the pride of South Washington Avenue every spring.  A favorite past time was going out to eat with family and friends.  A slice of “chocolate cake” was a must for dessert!

Carol was a devoted and loving wife to Bill her husband of 44 years.  Together, they were joyfully blessed with their daughter, Alex who she loved, adored and was her shining light.

Carol was predeceased by her parents John Gatti and Demetra Gatti (Demetoglous). She is survived by her husband Bill Battaglia of Moorestown, NJ and her daughter Alexzandra Battaglia (Andrew Fiss) of Philadelphia, PA.  She was the sister of Rose Mary Stokes (Jeff) of Marlton NJ, Susan Satkofsky (Jerry) of Cinnaminson NJ, brother of Jim Gatti (Lisa) of Delran NJ, cousin of Michele Reilly (Jim) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Her cats Puddy and Molly were very special to her.

Carol will be missed by all.

No visitation or service will be held.  Interment will be private.  Donations may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.  shrinerschildrens.org
