FRANCIS RAYMOND MITCHELL

Francis Raymond Mitchell, 95, of Mt. Laurel passed away on May 21 at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly. As he was known to all, “Fran” was an electrical engineer for Philadelphia Electric prior to his retirement. He was a 70-year member of St. Peter’s Church, Medford. Most of his adult life focused on his dedication to Freemasonry in NJ. Fran was a past Grand Master of Masons for the State of New Jersey in 1993-94, a past Grand Instructor, Grand Instructor Emeritus at the time of his passing, a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason, former Chairman of the Masonic Charity Foundation, a member of Crescent Shrine as well as many other Masonic bodies.

As part of the Greatest Generation, he proudly served our nation in the Navy on the USS Macon during WWII. In his spare time, he had enjoyed playing golf, did some hunting in his early years and enjoyed watching NCIS. He cheered for the Eagles in good times and bad and was a long time season ticket holder. Fran converted to be a die-hard New York Yankees Fan about twenty years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children: Cristopher Sefransky (Brittany), Stuart (Lexi), Scott (Donna), and Stacey (John); 6 grandchildren with ‘Peanut’ Sefransky on the way, several great grandchildren and his beloved Chihuahua and constant companion, “JJ”. He was predeceased by his first wife, Elizabeth and his eldest son, Steven.

Services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Crescent Shriners, 700 Highland Drive, Westampton, where friends may call from 5 p.m. Visitation will be from 5-7p.m. followed by a Masonic Service at 7 with Fran’s Memorial Service to follow. Inurnment is pending .
